Market entry in Berlin: Odyssey acquires two hotels in Humboldthain
The Odyssey Hotel Group is expanding in Germany and entering the Berlin market with two hotels. By operating the Moxy and AC Hotels at Humboldthain, the company is strengthening its presence in major European cities.
The dual-branded hotel cluster comprises 233 rooms in total, with 101 rooms at Moxy Berlin Humboldthain Park and 132 rooms at AC Hotel Berlin Humboldthain Park. While the addition represents a measured increase in overall room count, it reflects Odyssey’s focus on quality growth and its commitment to expanding in key gateway cities. Each new opening contributes meaningfully toward the company’s ambition of reaching 8,000 rooms by 2028 – from today’s over 4,500 rooms.
Ideally located within walking distance to Gesundbrunnen train station, the properties offer excellent connectivity for both business and leisure travelers. The cluster also features versatile meeting and event facilities with capacity for up to 150 guests, complemented by a terrace that provides additional opportunities for social and corporate gatherings.
Berlin represents a pivotal market for Odyssey Hotel Group, driven by strong year-round demand across business, leisure, and cultural travel segments. The addition of these two complementary brands enables Odyssey to cater to a wide spectrum of guests, from the playful, design-forward experience of Moxy to the refined, modern aesthetic of AC Hotels.
“We are excited to enter Berlin with this well-positioned and complementary hotel cluster,” said Jules van Gaalen, SVP Development & Asset Management at Odyssey Hotel Group. “While this addition is not about scale alone, it is about strategic presence. Berlin is a key market for us, and these hotels represent an important step in strengthening our footprint in major European capitals.”
Moxy Berlin Humboldthain Park brings the brand’s signature vibrant social spaces, contemporary design, and tech-enabled guest experience, appealing to a new generation of travelers. AC Hotel Berlin Humboldthain Park offers a sophisticated and thoughtfully designed environment, combining comfort, functionality, and modern elegance for discerning guests.
This addition underscores Odyssey Hotel Group’s continued focus on building a high-quality, well-balanced portfolio in prime urban locations, while delivering exceptional guest experiences across all segments.

“What sets us apart in the market, particularly in the white-label operator segment, is our solid financial fundamentals. Investors and brand partners are both acutely aware of today’s market challenges and increased volatility, so they put a premium on reliable long-term operating platforms like Odyssey. Leading European rating agencies like Creditreform continue to issue us very favourable commercial reports and analyses on everything from solvency, payment behaviour and our balance sheet,” adds van Gaalen.
